BTC/USD margin calculator
1 lot = 1 BTC. A $1 move is worth $1 per lot. At a price of 100,000, 0.10 lot of BTC/USD is $10,000 of exposure; at an assumed leverage of 100:1 the margin is $100.00. Your account's leverage on BTC/USD is set per account group — put your real figure in the leverage field, not the default.

- Position value = 1 BTC × 1.00 lots × 79,762.27 = $79,762.27.
- Margin = $79,762.27 ÷ 100 = $797.62.
- That is what is set aside, not what is at risk. The whole $79,762.27 moves with the market.
Reference prices in the text are round teaching numbers; the calculator prefills our last stored reading, indicative only. Contract sizes follow the standard conventions printed above the calculator; your account’s own specification is what applies. Nothing here is a recommendation.
The sum for BTC/USD
Margin = lots × contract size × price ÷ leverage. For one lot of BTC/USD at 100,000 and 100:1: 1 × 1 × 100,000 ÷ 100 = $1,000.00. For 0.10 lot: $100.00.
The price is in this sum, so BTC/USD margin rises and falls with BTC/USD. The exposure — $10,000 on 0.10 lot — is what your profit and loss are calculated on; the margin is only what is reserved to hold it.
Margin is not the most you can lose
0.10 lot of BTC/USD loses $0.10 per pip against you regardless of the leverage used to open it. Leverage decides how much of your money is reserved, not how big the position is. Ultimo does not offer a negative-balance guarantee; size from the stop, not from the margin.
